Veterans hiking a mountain trail together

Our Mission

The Veteran Trail Project exists for one reason — to make sure no veteran walks the road ahead alone.

How it started

Born on the Trail

When Tyler Cuddy transitioned out of the Marine Corps, he found himself doing what a lot of veterans do — pushing through alone. The camaraderie, the purpose, the people who just got it — all of it was gone overnight.

The Veteran Trail Project started as a simple idea: bring veterans together around shared experiences in the outdoors. Trails, campfires, and open sky have a way of cutting through the noise and creating the kind of honest connection that's hard to find anywhere else.

What began as a small group of veterans hitting local trails has grown into a nationwide community — one built on trust, shared service, and the belief that the best is still ahead.

What we stand for

The Mission

To connect veterans with community, resources, and purpose — so every veteran has a trail worth walking and people to walk it with.

Brotherhood & Sisterhood

Service creates bonds that don't expire. We honor that connection and build on it.

No One Left Behind

We actively reach out, check in, and show up — because isolation is the enemy.

Purpose Beyond Service

The mission doesn't end at discharge. We help veterans find their next one.

Earned Trust

We say what we mean, do what we say, and protect the community we've built.
